"Sunny day, sun rays playing between crocheted lace
curtains. The rays lay down for a while on a comfy sofa, next to a
frilly, flower patterned pillow, just to leave and go to tease that
sleeping, old, slightly overweight tabby cat who is sleeping on the best
place of the living room. Grandfather clock is ticking in the background
and you can sense the scent of fresh buns and tea with lemon, sugar and
milk in the air. Look at the wallpaper..."
This was my
impression of the design when I was model stitching it. It was very
calming sensation and I hope you can experience it too. As you may
guess this sensation also gave the name for Grandmother's
Wallpaper.
The story behind this needleroll is plainly that I have wanted to
include a needleroll into the Ring of Roses series since I first
published Ring of
Roses #1, and even though Grandmother's Wallpaper has no ring of roses
it still has the rose and the hearts which are the dominating elements in
this series.
Design size: 69x 95 stitches.
Model is stitched on 32 count violet hand-dyed Belfast linen by
Silkweaver with Crescent Colours' Vanilla Pudding
silk.
